Norwell Little League Code of Conduct

As manager, coaches, league officials and parents, we share the responsibility for making sure that the children in this program have a fun and safe experience. Equally important to the goal of teaching baseball is the goal of teaching teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Little League of America, the national organization of which we are a part, requires that its volunteers and parents take the following pledge:

I will teach all children to play fair and do their best. 
I will positively support all managers, coaches and players. 
I will respect the decisions of the umpires. 
I will praise a good effort despite the outcome of the game. 

Likewise, Norwell’s Little League program contains provisions devoted to these same standards.

1. Recognizing that the game is for the children  
2. Accept responsibility for making a positive experience for every player  
3. Value commitment, effort and quality of play above wins and losses.  
4. Respect teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, fans (and equipment) and treat everyone with dignity 
5. Play by the rules.  
6. Accept umpiring judgments as fair, final and part of the game.  
7. Support the League in its volunteer services believing the League can be enhanced by the efforts of all.

These standards and rules apply to everyone involved in the program. They are clear, and so is our commitment to abide by them. We have a Zero Tolerance Policy concerning unsportsmanlike conduct and other inappropriate behavior, whether it occurs before, after or during a game, game field or on the practice field. Should an issue arise which causes you concern, we encourage you to help us deal with it immediately.

Additional information will be provided to all the players, parents and coaches at the start of the Baseball season, but we ask that you accept this form with your registration.
